Located just after the paper machine, the winder divides the parent reel into daughter reels ready for the customer’s final needs. The objective is to wind the “finished” paper on cores with an optimum density, without any winding defects (folds for example), without edge dishing and with a sufficient cross direction profile hardness for the final customers (or slitters). In addition to Allimand’s know-how with regards to paper machines, ALLIMAND has also been manufacturing two drums winders for many years and has many references on different type of papers. The latest winder generation, resulting from the latest developments and calculations by finite elements, can reach a winding speed of 2500m/min with reel diameters of 1500mm.

The winding quality control is reinforced by a winder integrated control system which controls the linear pressure and tightening torque (by drive).
